Best Mother’s Day EVAH

May 10, 2010

I woke up (late) to this:

Which was awesome on its own, true. However upon closer inspection the awesome exponentially increased:

This was followed immediately by coffee and a happy baby and within 30 minutes by scrambled eggs with dill and sourdough french toast.

Then there were gifts! I got some other cool stuff like pajama pants and one of those cool cheese graters with the measuring cup tupperware thingie that attaches to the bottom and I know you’re very very interested in those except oooh look a pretty pretty necklace!

It’s from Ripegoods and even if it wasn’t exactly what I asked for (I’ve learned to just ask. If you haven’t tried it? Do so. It’s awesome.) I would still want to make out with it. I’m also uber pleased because Topher barely let me get it unwrapped before he just had to tell me about what an AWESOME experience he had working with Lindsey and what a pleasure she made the experience for him. This was the second time I have asked him for a specific handmade product after seeing it on a blog that I love, and the first time (with a different product and company) the experience was less than satisfactory. So I’m thrilled that this one more than made up for it and he may continue to get me cool stuff that I ask for from handmade artists in the future. Thank you Lindsey!

We hung out, Piper tried on the new dress that I made for her, we ran to Target and bought an iron because ours just like, broke and what? Oh. Yeah I made her a dress. An apple-y dress with apple buttons.

My customer satisfaction rate is 100%

After nap (during which i did my hair and makeup at my leisure while “someone else” cleaned up and organized the diaper bag and the gifts and cards we needed to bring) we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa’s house to hang with some fam.

Forgive us for looking in all different directions, many many cameras.

Piper and I on the left of course, with Topher’s mom and Grandma on the right. It was a great visit, followed by a disappointing dinner at a restaurant we used to love. I hate it when that happens! But Piper did awesome and we had a tantrum free day, which in and of itself is epic.

We came home and hung out a bit before bedtime, just us girls. We were supposed to be on caterpillar watch (you’ll see why later in the week) but we’re girls and we were all dressed up so mostly we just sat around talking about boys and checking out each others shoes.

It was a great, great day.

oh my heart. Reminds me of mother’s day when I had just one sweet baby girl. Not that my MD was anything less for having 3 big kids climbing all over me & writing cards that say things like “Mommy, you are Presentibil.”

    Looks like a wonderful day.
